Indonesians will head to the polls to cast their votes in general election today, Wednesday, April 17.

RAKYATKU.COM - Indonesians will head to the polls to cast their votes in general election today, Wednesday, April 17.

They will elect president and vice president as well as members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, provincial and municipal councils.

Total 16 political parties will be competing on the legislative ballot. But there are four independent regional parties will compete from the autonomous northwestern Aceh Province.

The presidential race ia a rematch between incumbent President Joko Widodo from PDI Party and former general Prabowo Subianto from Gerindra Party. They first ran against each other in the 2014 presidential election.

Voters will cast their votes at 809,699 polling stations across the country.
